Position: Payroll Team Lead

High Arctic’s Human Resources team is currently looking for a Payroll Team Lead for its corporate office in Calgary, Alberta. Reporting to the Corporate Human Resources Manager this role is responsible for overseeing all Canadian payroll activities in Canada while providing exceptional customer service to the organization.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the completion of all payroll functions; coordinate the effective and timely preparation and transmission of all payroll responsibilities, in accordance with existing policies, procedures, government regulations and legislation
  • Oversee performance of the payroll team to ensure accuracy and compliance, while providing developmental opportunities for growth
  • Ensure appropriate records such as attendance forms, employees records, payroll documentation are maintained and in compliance with records retention and privacy legislation policies
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable government policies, Pension Plan requirements and preparing month-end and year-end account reconciliations
  • Preparation of tax slips, T4s, NR4 etc.
  • Preparation and filing of payroll remittances, meeting regulatory deadlines
  • Facilitate payments to insurance providers
  • Facilitate payments to WCB (SK, AB, BC)
  • Facilitate exercising of stock options
  • Act as the payroll subject matter expert for the department and the point of escalation for payroll inquiries
  • Resolve payroll inquiries in a timely and courteous manner
  • Provide exceptional customer service demonstrating strong collaboration and cross-team communication in support of the business and various HR projects
  • Maintain monthly, quarterly and annual processes and reporting as required
  • Lead fiscal year-end analysis and reconciliations; interact with internal and external auditors to provide support and clarity to decision made by the team
  • Create and deliver ad hoc reports and HR analytics as requested, including data analysis
  • Identify and recommend changes to payroll processes and procedures
  • Remain current with government legislation, ensuring compliance and legislative changes are implemented in the payroll software
  • Support the Human Resources department with benefits administration as required
  • Other administrative duties as required, including employee record filing

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years’ in-house payroll experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role
  • Member of the Canadian Payroll Association with a CPM designation is considered an asset
  • Microsoft Navision experience is considered an asset
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, with advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Demonstrated leadership and conflict resolution skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent attention to detail skills with the ability to reconcile accounts and conduct financial analysis
  • Outstanding interpersonal (verbal and written communication) skills and the ability to build relationships with client groups

Position: Senior Sales Representative

High Arctic’s Sales team is currently looking for a Senior Sales Representative for its corporate office in Calgary, Alberta.   Reporting to the Director, Sales & Marketing, the Sales Representative role is a dynamic position that involves ongoing communication with High Arctic’s clients, and will be responsible for achieving growth in sales, profitability and market share in both incumbent and new markets.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the assigned product portfolio, while maintaining relationships with customers and selling products resulting in total client satisfaction
  • Ensure a collaborative and systematic approach to growing relationship with current and future clients
  • Maintain a high level of visibility as a respectful and professional industry ambassador for the organization
  • Perform continuous marketing analysis including customer analysis, company/product analysis and competitor analysis
  • Ensure key customer and account relationships are fostered and grown, through working collaboratively with the sales team, and acting as the intermediary between customers’ needs and Snubbing/N2 solutions by gathering client requirements
  • Ensure all customer requests are acted upon and managed ensuring exceptional service delivery throughout the process

Qualifications:

Position: Intermediate QHSE Administrator
Location: Acheson, AB

High Arctic’s QHSE team is currently looking for an Intermediate QHSE Administrator for its office in Acheson, Alberta.   Reporting to the QHSE Manager, Corporate Compliance, the Intermediate QHSE Administrator role would be responsible for data entry of QHSE program related tracking and filing of documents such as rig inspections, hazard and incident reports, and the general maintenance of QHSE records and statistical reports.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage administrative aspects of all QHSE incidents related to Health and Safety, Environmental, and Transportation
  • Compile information for customer related audits
  • Compile data and complete customer reporting and presentations
  • Create and update QHSE standards under the direction of the QHSE leadership team
  • Act as the administrative point of contact for industry/trade associations such as PSAC and CAODC
  • Participate in QHSE incident investigations when required
  • Participate in WCB case management to ensure the success of all aspects of the modified worker program, and the timely recovery of any injured workers
  • Provide assistance in the administration and investigation of Quality related incidents when required
  • Conduct, either solely or as part of a team, internal audits to ensure ISO9001 Quality Management System compliance
  • Ensure continued compliance to customer and regulatory requirements by submitting QHSE standards (RAVS) to contractor management/registry systems such as ISNetworld, Comply Works, PICS etc.
  • Provide regular updates to the QHSE and Management team on both leading and lagging indicators of QHSE performance related to Operations and Support departments
  • Participate in, prepare presentation material for, and maintain meeting minutes for the High Arctic Joint QHSE Committee
  • Provide assistance and guidance to any Junior QHSE Administrators so that they may effectively executive their responsibilities and duties
  • Other duties as assigned by the QHSE Manager, Corporate Compliance

Qualifications:

  • 2 – 4 years of experience in an administrative role
  • Previous experience or education relating to QHSE is considered an asset
  • Strong proficiency in the Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Highly organized and detailed oriented
  • Ability to gather and interpret data, compile information & prepare reports
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure

Position: Junior QHSE Administrator
Location: Acheson, AB

High Arctic’s QHSE team is currently looking for a Junior QHSE Administrator for its office in Acheson, Alberta.   Reporting to the QHSE Manager, Corporate Compliance, the Junior QHSE Administrator role would be responsible for data entry of QHSE program related tracking and filing of documents such as rig inspections, hazard and incident reports, and the general maintenance of QHSE records and statistical reports.

 Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • QHSE data record entry and maintenance of the SharePoint QHSE Record Tracking, STOP Card Tracking, LCA Tracking, and Inspection Tracking databases
  • Update 3rd party documentation, such as MSDS sheets and industry standards
  • Monitoring of QHSE statistics as required by the Company
  • Participate in, prepare presentation material for, and maintain meeting minutes for the High Arctic Joint QHSE Committee
  • Continued development of the High Arctic Learning Management System (LMS). This position will be expected to manage the overall system, in addition to developing courses and examinations with the Articulate software
  • Act as a point of reference for the continuous updates and assistance with customer orientations
  • Request and analyze transportation carrier profiles
  • Maintain and update QHSE statistics through the various tracking databases
  • Prepare QHSE related reports for review using multiple sources of data and compiling information in the Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Create and update QHSE forms as required
  • Ensure continued compliance to customer and regulatory requirements by submitting insurance and statistical information to contractor management/registry systems such as ISNetworld, Comply Works, PICS etc.

Qualifications:

  • 1 – 2 years of experience in an administrative role

Position Summary:

Concord Well Serving, a division of High Arctic Energy Services is currently targeting Floorhands and Derrickhands for their various bases. The Floorhand / Derrickhand is a crucial part of the team, responsible for their piece in the day to day operations of the service rig. Leading by example, the hire will drive all of HAES / Concord safety policies and procedures including your personal and teams personal Safety contracts.

Key Requirements:

  • 6+ months experience on a service rig
  • Valid and current Class 5Q Driver’s License, with clean Driver’s abstract
  • Valid and current Class 3Q/1 Driver’s License an asset
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic mechanical maintenance
  • Ability to complete safety documentation in an accurate and timely manner
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, mixing, moving heavy materials up to 50lbs
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to persevere through difficult weather conditions, challenging work site environments, and long demanding work days
  • Willingness to work away from home for significant blocks of time, moving from project to project as required
  • Ability to manage weather and/or seasonal interruptions in work schedule
